GROW BIOINTENSIVE series instructor Margaret Lloyd teaches students how to propagate seedlings. We have 20 student taking this 5 class series together. They are receiving in depth understanding of the excellent Grow Biointensive gardening methods that can be used in all soil situations. In addition long lasting friendships are being formed.
Our ever popular Worm Composting Classes. These are taught by "The Worm Lady of San Mateo," the amazing Alane Weber. She really knows worms. She shares what kitchen scraps can go to the worms. Their castings will produce good fertilizer for your garden. It is a very fun class. We sell the worms to get you so you can get started. There is a fabulous book titled Worms Eat My Garbage that is the classic on the subject. Also for sale is The Earth Moved: a great worm story.
"Garden Based Herbalism and Local Medicinal Herbs" teacher Darren Huckle teaching the students all about the healing herbs growing in our bio-region... some right outside the classroom door. Since there is a craving for this valuable knowledge and wisdom. We plan to offer more, in-depth, classes on herbs as related to healing ourselves. Please stay tuned!

Mail a photo of you with something you've grown with Common Ground seed, seedlings, tools, or other materials, or that you were inspired to plant after taking a class here. We want to see and help show off what you are doing in YOUR garden. Let's see your clever ideas for raised beds, your oddly shaped potatoes, your fantastic compost piles, your permaculture duck patch, anything and everything. Common Ground Gardens
